This course is designed for responsible gun owners who want to develop the foundational skills needed to safely and effectively use a handgun for personal defense. Whether you're new to defensive shooting or looking to strengthen your fundamentals, this class bridges the gap between basic marksmanship and real-world application. Students will gain a solid understanding of how to apply firearm safety, mechanics, and mindset under stress. Live-fire drills will focus on accuracy, threat engagement, movement, and decision-making in defensive scenarios. Key Topics Covered: Defensive Mindset & Situational Awareness Proper Grip, Stance, and Trigger Control Drawing from Holster (or Concealed Carry Setup) Defensive Shooting vs. Target Shooting Multiple Threat Engagement Reloads & Malfunction Clearing Movement & Use of Cover Legal and Ethical Considerations of Defensive Use What to Expect: This is a live-fire, skill-building course taught in a structured, supportive environment. Each student will receive individualized feedback to improve performance and build confidence. Course Requirements: Semi-automatic handgun or revolver 2+ magazines or speed loaders 150–200 rounds of factory ammunition Eye and ear protection Closed-toe shoes and range-appropriate attire Duration: 2-4 Hours Cost: $75 Prerequisites: Basic handgun safety knowledge and experience with loading, unloading, and firing.
